Since its creation in 2003, MAD has aimed with unflagging zeal to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged yet academically talented young South Africans by creating exceptional educational and related opportunities. MAD IS HONOURED TO BE PART OF "THE CHOSEN"

The Leading CEO Council – the first of its kind in South Africa – develops sustainable leadership through mentoring and coaching. It  is rated annually by the Sunday Times as one of the top three events on the local business calendar since its inception in 2005. With the aim of producing leaders rather than followers, The 2009 Leading Male CEO Council, last year unveiled the inaugural Mentorship Skills for Leadership Programme.

MAD will be part of this ongoing drive for the 2010 Leading CEO Business Council. What an opportunity to get like-minded people together. Members of the MAD team as well as four of the MAD Students will attend the 2010 Council. More information is available on www.thechosen.co.za.


MAD TAKES A BITE OF THE BIG APPLE
On 19th July 2010, the Make A Difference Foundation (MAD) brought a little “MAD”ness to New York as we hosted the inaugural MAD USA Charity Golf Day at Liberty National Golf Course, Jersey City. CANADA GIVES US A TASTE OF THEIR MAPLE SWEET HOSPITALITY AND FRIENDSHIP

Francois in CanadaFrancois Pienaar and the Make A Difference Foundation was invited to Toronto by the Canadian Southern African Network on Tuesday night, 20 July 2010 to raise money for disadvantaged children. Proceeds from the dinner and auction were split among the Make A Difference (MAD) Foundation of South Africa and two Canadian educational charities, Silver Creek Pre-School and Empower Global. MAD LEARNERS JOIN THE GLOBAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP CAMP IN THE USA 

5 MAD learners were chosen to attend the Anthony Robbins Global Youth Leadership Camp in San Diego. Young Leaders from all over the world attended the Camp this year. On their way to the camp, the learners decided to stop over in New York to celebrate Madiba’s birthday by supporting the Nelson Mandela’s 67 minutes of doing good challenge”. Read more...


SPENCER HORNE DOES MAD PROUD!

Spencer

Spencer joined the MAD Team as a beneficiary in 2005. At only 19 years of age, Spencer Horne now has a string of achievements and awards attached to his name. His latest being in receipt of a number of letters of acceptance from the world's most renowned Universities.

In his typical, down-to-earth manner, Spencer informed MAD that he has selected Harvard as his first choice. His studies commences in the USA in September this year. Well done, Spencer! Read more...
